The hours you can pick up your impounded vehicle for most are:
- 8AM - 4PM Monday - Sunday
- 8AM - 12PM (noon) Holidays.
Some after hours service is available for DMPD and Polk County Sheriff's Office impounded vehicles only.
Vehicle “Clean Out” Times:
- 8AM - 3:30PM Monday - Friday
- 8AM - 11:30AM Saturday - Sunday & Holidays
Tow Truck Pickup Hours:
- 8AM - 3:00PM Monday - Friday

All private property impounds, Iowa State Patrol impounds, Des Moines Police Department impounds, and Polk County Sheriff's Office impounds can be paid using cash or credit card, provided you show a matching photo ID.

Credit card payments may include a processing fee.

All credit card payments must be made in person by the cardholder, with a valid photo ID that matches the card.

Once a vehicle is stored on our lot, access is limited until the outstanding balance is paid. There are two ways to handle payment:

Insurance Payment:
Your insurance company may contact us directly and agree to pay the towing and storage fees on your behalf. -
Personal Payment:
You can pay the fees yourself when you arrive at our location. If you need documentation for insurance reimbursement, Crow Tow will gladly provide the necessary paperwork.
Vehicles impounded by a police entity; you must get a release from that police agency before coming to get an item out of a vehicle. For privately impounded vehicles, we will send an employee out to your vehicle with your permission and get emergency items only: car seats, ashes, important papers, etc.

Yes, however it must be a “tow truck or flatbed”. We do NOT allow trailers on the lot.
No, you may not do any repairs or bring any tools on the lot.
No, you have 24 hours to remove your vehicle from the lot, before you are charged a daily storage fee.
You need to place your parking pass in the lower passenger side of the front windshield.

Required Documents for Vehicle Repossession:
To proceed with a vehicle repossession, please bring the following items:

A copy of the vehicle title

A Hold Harmless agreement (must specifically hold Crow Tow harmless)
